Pip and Patch is a UK guide for dog and puppy owners. It helps you make good decisions before a problem gets expensive: the first weeks with a puppy, vet costs and pet insurance, and everyday safety.
Every guide links its sources at the bottom, so you can check what we say. We aim to keep prices and rules up to date, and each guide shows when it was last checked.
Meet Pip and Patch
Pip is a sensible hedgehog who has seen it all. Patch is a small white puppy with a black eye patch, who has not. They turn up in the guides and videos to show the mistakes so you can skip them.

I’m Joanne Giles, a dog owner in the North East of England. I’m not a vet, a dog trainer or a financial adviser. These guides are information, not advice for your pet or your situation. If you’re worried about your dog’s health, call your vet.
